Golden Dragonfly Press was founded by Alice Maldonado Gallardo, a poet whose work has been shaped by her Puerto Rican heritage, her deep connection to nature, and her journey of healing through poetry. After a serious health diagnosis, she embraced poetry as a path to resilience and a way to turn personal adversity into expansive reflections on life, love, and healing.

This personal journey and her professional experience as an Assistant Editor, and later as Web & Promotion Manager at UMass Press have instilled a profound commitment  in her approach to publishing.

For Alice, publishing is a deliberate path of devotion and care. It’s a process of holding space for an author's voice and story to be honored in print. She believes a book should feel whole, a testament to the unseen labor of careful editing, thoughtful design, and precise rhythm.
